What is your favorite thing about working in the banking industry and why?

I have worked at multiple banks as I grew my knowledge and experience, and I can truly say there is nothing better than the relationships you build between your co-workers and your customers. The people I have met and the lessons I have learned have created who I am and allowed me to grow and become a better person.

Describe one life experience that taught you a lesson that you apply to your banking career.

Two wrongs can’t make a right. Two mistakes can make something appear correct, but if you dive into it further you can see the mistakes.

What is your best elevator pitch for why banking is a great career?

Banking is a wonderful career to build yourself professionally and respectfully. Many people put trust in their local banks, and every day you can work to ensure you are taking care of your community.

How does getting involved with the IBA help you and your bank?

I am currently attending the IBA Leadership Institute, and Iowa Bankers Association has taught me so many lessons already to better myself, our team and the bank as a whole.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do most?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy spending time on the golf course, the gym and spending time outdoors.

What is a quote or guiding principle you live by?

“You are not your thoughts, you are your actions.” When I think I am not capable of doing something, I put it to action and see what I am capable of.
